Support Australian Music On Community Radio - Support Amrap
Amrap provides critical national community radio infrastructure to distribute Australian music throughout the community radio sector. Since 2008 over 1,500 broadcasters from 300 community radio stations have used Amrap to receive music from 3,000 Australian artists. Amrap has distributed over 90,000 Australian music files online through AirIt, and packaged and posted 70,000 CDs to stations with limited internet access. Over 900 broadcasters now use Amrap Pages to promote Australian musicians on station websites.
An independent review commissioned by the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy in 2011 returned highly positive results but the Federal Government failed to renew funding for Amrap in the 2012-13 Federal Budget. We are working with the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy, to resolve the funding crisis. In the meantime Amrap is operating on limited reserves provided by the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia and the Community Broadcasting Foundation. Your support during this time is greatly appreciated and will assist with our work to restore critical Government funding to Amrap.
